Short biography of the Russian Portrait painter Sergey Zaryanko.

The Russian Portrait painter Sergey Konstantinovich Zaryanko born in 1818. A pedagogue and Portraitist. The first lessons he had from Venetzianov, after he studied at the Academy of Arts and was the pupil of M. N. Vorobyov. Zaryanko went to Moscow in 1843 to worked for the Moscow Architectural College and the Institute for Orphans, Alexandrovsky. He moved back in 1846 to St. Petersburg, he worked there in a military college as a teacher in drawings. The Russian painter lived in St. Petersburg for more then 10 years and made the best portrait paintings in that time. The Portraitist became in the School of Painting, Architecture and Sculpture in Moscow a professor in 1856. Some of his pupils were V. E. Makovsky and V. G. Perov. The Russian portrait painter Sergey Zaryanko died in Moscow, 1871.
