Short biography of the Polish painter Franciszek Zmurko. |

The Polish painter Franciszek Zmurko born in Lvov, Poland, 1859. The first lessons in drawing he had from the painter Franciszek Tepa in his birth place. He followed also lessons from Jan Matejko at the Fine Arts School in Krakow. In 1877 Zmurko moved to Vienna to enter the Academy there and later that year he traveled to Munich to had lessons from Aleksander Wagner. He went back in 1880 to Krakow and lived in Warsaw from 1882. Franciszek Zmurko made several trips to Milan (1894), Paris (1884-1885, 1889 ) and St. Petersburg (1883-1884). Franciszek Zmurko died in Warsaw, Poland, 1910. |
