Short biography from the French painter Adolphe Yvon. |
The French painter Adolphe Yvon born in Eschweiler in 1817. Same as his father he start to worked for the Ministry of Forests and Water. He worked there for 3 years. After that time he moved to the Beaux Arts School in Paris, where he went into the Atelier of Delaroche. His first painting work Yvon made in 1841. In the middle of the 1840's he traveled to Russian and he became a great and famous Military Artist. At that time he was one of the greatest Battle painters. Adolphe Yvon met in 1856 Constantinople and painted also a few Oriental paintings. The Military Artist and Orientalist painter died in 1893. |
