The Spanish painter Diego Velazquez born in
Seville, Spain, 1599. His real name Diego Rodriguez de Silva y Velazquez
from Spain.
The first Art educations he had from the vigorous painter Francisco de
Herrera. He left his studio after one year, when he was only twelve years
old. Then he start studied under Francisco Pacheco, where he stayed for five
years. In 1622 Velazquez moved to Madrid where he met Rubens. He went in
1629 to Italy for the first time, visited the cities Venice, Rome, Florence,
Genoa. He studied and copied old masters works and painted for himself. The
Spanish painter died in Madrid, Spain, 1660. |
