The German Genre painter Fritz Karl Hermann von Uhde.
Born in Wolkenburg, Germany in 1848. Genre painter between the
Impressionism and the Realism style. Followed the Fine Arts Academy in
Dresden in 1866. Went to Munich in 1877 and admired there the Dutch Old
Masters. Travelled to Paris in 1879 where he also studied. In 1882 he
went to the Netherlands. The German painter von Uhde became a professor
of the Arts Academy in Munich and joined also the Berlin Secession. He
became important members of the Art academies in Berlin, Munich and
Dresden. The Genre Painter Fritz von Uhde died in Munich, German in
1911.
