The Italian painter Stefano Torelli. Born in Bologna,
Italia in 1712. Was the Son of the well know Italian painter Felice Torelli.
Started painting in Bologna and later he travelled to Venice to paint
fresco's. Around 1750 he went to Dresden, Germany. He worked there as a
portrait painter, ceiling paintings and painting altarpieces. After
moved to Lubeck and to St. Petersburg in 1762. Here Torelli became the
Academy of Art Professor. He died in St. Petersburg in 1780. |
