The French painter James Tissot. Born in Nantes,
France in 1836. His full name was James Jacques Joseph Tissot. At the age of Twenty, in 1856 he started to study at The
Paris School des Beaux Arts. His teachers where Lamothe and Hippolyte
Flandrin. James Abbott McNeill Whistler and Edgar Degas became his
friends. had his exhibitions in 1858 in The Paris salon. He went to
London in 1871 and travelled with Edouard Monet to Venice in 1874. He
returned back to Paris in 1882. The French painter James Tissot died in Doubs, France
in 1902. |
