The Dutch Baroque painter Gerard Terborch. Born in
Zwolle, the Netherlands in 1617. He got a good education from his
father. After that he moved to Amsterdam to study there in 1632 under Willem Cornelisz Duyster
and in Haarlem, 1634 he studied under Pieter de Molijn. Travelled to
London in 1635 and after to France, Germany, Italy and Spain. Finally
the Dutch painter settled in Deventer, the Netherlands. He became there
a member of the council town . The Dutch painter Terborch died in
Deventer in 1681. |
