The Belgian Pointillist painter Theo Van Rysselberghe.
Born in Gent, Belgium in 1862. He studied at the Art Academies in Gent
and Brussels. Had his first exhibition in 1881 at the Brussels Salon. He
became a member of the Avant Garde Group the Les Vingt, a group of
intellectuals in Brussels in 1883. Traveled to Paris, North Africa,
Spain, the Middle East and many parts of Europe. Lived and stayed in
Paris, France from 1897. The Belgian painter died in St. Clair, 1926. |
