The Spanish painter Joan de Joanes aka Juan de Juanes born in Fuente de la Higuera, Spain, ca 1510. The painter and Draftsman was trained by his father, the painter Vicente Macip (ca 1475-ca 1545). Artist from the Valencia School. Joanes went in 1560 to Rome, Italy. Studied there the Art works of Raphael. The Religious painter died in Bocairente, Spain, 1579. He was one of the important Spanish artists of the 16th century. |
