The Dutch Romanist painter Maerten Jacobsz van Heemskerck born in Heemskerk, The Netherlands, 1498. The first trainings he had in Delft and Haarlem. After that he went in 1527 to the work studio of Jan van Scorel. From 1532 till 1537 van Heemskerck stayed in Rome, Italy. He moved in 1538 back to the Netherlands and lived in Haarlem. The Romanist painter became a great artist in portraits and Altar pieces. The Famous Dutch Master died in 1575, Haarlem, the Netherlands. |
