The French Post Impressionist painter Paul Gauguin,
also know as Eugene Henri Paul Gauguin born in 1848, Paris, France.
When Louis Napoleon take the power the family Gauguin moved to Lima,
Peru. He returned back to France in 1855 and stay with his Uncle in
Orleans. Gauguin became a sailor man in 1865 and traveled between
South America and France for three years. The first Drawings we
know about him are from 1871 when he was nearly at the age of
30. Together with his friend Claude Emile Schuffenecker, they
went to the Colarossi Academy to start studied paintings. Gauguin met in
1874 Pissarro and other famous Impressionists Artists. He was influenced
by Cezanne and Pissarro. The French Post Impressionist painter stayed
and worked in England from 1886 till 1888. After that he stayed in Arles
with the Famous Dutch Painter Vincent van Gogh. In 1891 Gauguin went to
Tahiti, returned in 1893 to Paris, in 1894 went to Copenhagen and
visited Tahiti in 1895 for the 2nd time. He was very ill, alcoholism,
syphilis, financial problems and depressions but still made paintings.
After be in Prison for three months, he died in 1903. |
