The Flemish painter Frans Floris aka Frans Floris de Vriendt born in 1516, Antwerp, Belgium. The first lessons he had in Liege and his first teacher was Lambert Lombard. He became a Master painter in 1540 in Antwerp. After that he moved for a few years to Italy where he studied the art works of Michelangelo. Floris returned back in 1547 and opened his own workshop in Antwerp with many pupils. He lived there till his dead in 1570. |
