The English painter William Etty was born in 1787, York, England. In 1806 he moved to London where he started to study at the Royal Academy. The teachers of him where Henry Fuseli and Sir Thomas Lawrence. Traveled to Florence and Paris in 1816 and in 1822 to Venice, Italy. Etty died in his born town York in 1849. |
