The Italian Baroque painter Caravaggio, his real
name Michelangelo Merisi, born 1571, nearly Milan, Italy. The first
lessons started in 1584, Caravaggio started training from Simone
Peterzano till 1584. He Moved to Rome in 1592. Caravaggio met there the
art dealer and famous painter Giuseppe Cesare d'Arpino, that brought
Caravaggio recognition. After 1600 he had troubles with the law for his
violent temper and other crimes. Nearly almost of Caravaggio religious
paintings emphasize suffering, death and sadness. The Italian Baroque
painter went to Naples (1606), Malta (1608), Palermo and again to Naples
where he arrested. When he released, the Baroque painter Caravaggio died
from sickness in 1610. |
