The German Northern Renaissance painter Hans Baldung aka Hans Baldung Grien born in Wurttemberg, Germany. Engraver and painter. In Nurnberg he worked there from 1503 till 1507. Hans Baldung moved to Strasbourg in 1509 where he stayed the rest of his life. Baldung painted great altar pieces. The life and dead was nearly always created in his drawings, etchings and Northern Renaissance paintings. Baldung was also a great portraitist. The German Northern Renaissance painter died in 1545. |
